Unconsciously, we use hands as a figure of communication, a visual aid, and a connection portal. We caress the hair of the loved ones. We wipe the tears of the hurt ones. We hold and guide the little ones. We touch to feel whether someone is warm or cold, hurt or whole.
With every touch, we convey a thousand messages, connect the senses, ease the grief, and unlock the stories behind. We can tell as much about someone by looking at their hands as talking to them.

ROSE – The beauty awaits
Every slice of life can offer beauty. With these bare hands, we reach out to beauty. With these bare hands, blood is shedding. With these bare hands, we’ll turn our pain into rose.

PIECES – Is it blue where you are
This morning, we woke up with a peaceful coffee in our hands. The sun is shining 27 degrees on our lands. But our friends had a different wake. Our friends woke up at 4, they didn’t have a break. Their hands are freezing, they don’t even feel it. Our friends didn’t sleep, their hands are ripped.
Geographical boundaries may separate us, but let us not forget we’re still living at the same time, on the same planet, different pieces. And in those pieces, some may not be as lucky as the others, as happy as the others. Anguish stores different faces for each individual, but the azure sky above is for everyone.

TEARS – We all cry
‘That day, when I saw you burst into tears on the crowded street. I thought: ‘What is the point of this all? Why is hatred a means of support? Why are one’s tears praised and the others’ disgraced?’
Hands on the cheeks as those tears stream into you. You realise whatever they feel, you all feel the same, same tears on different cheeks, same world in different pieces.

HOLD – Do it
‘Once, my friend saw me with some girl. The next day, he countered if I held her hand or she did. I said I didn’t know. I thought holding hands is a conjoint action, and we just laughed.’ It is. A collective action to bolster affection, and stretches our empathy muscles.
When was the last time you held someone’s hand and thought of them at the same time? We usually forget and don’t give it the value it deserves but do it.
Do it now because we can. Do it now because everyone needs a hand.
